Full House Resorts’ Temporary Casino at American Place: This Lake County establishment made a remarkable contribution to the year-on-year gain, generating $7.3 million in revenue in March, accounting for a significant 71% of the overall increase.
Rivers Casino: Reporting $43 million in revenue, Rivers Casino continued to be a strong player in the Illinois market.
Grand Victoria Casino: With $12.2 million in earnings, Grand Victoria Casino demonstrated its significance in the state’s gambling landscape.
Harrah’s Joliet: Harrah’s Joliet followed closely with $10.6 million in revenue.
Hollywood Aurora and Hollywood Joliet: These casinos added to the positive trend, bringing in $7.9 million and $7.6 million, respectively.
Temporary Casino at American Place:
Full House Resorts made a strategic move by opening the Temporary Casino at American Place in Lake County in February. This $100 million temporary venue, featuring approximately 1,000 slot machines and 50 table games, played a pivotal role in driving the surge in casino revenue in March. In February, Illinois State Senator Christina Castro introduced SB 1656, a bill aimed at legalizing internet casino gaming within the state. This legislative push follows Castro’s unsuccessful attempt to pass online casino legislation in 2021. If SB 1656 were to become law, it would enable internet gaming operators to operate up to three branded skins and potentially open the door to interstate poker, as the bill references the “acceptance of out-of-state wagers.”
