Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Imposes Fines Totaling $73,075 in Four Consent Agreements

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) recently ratified four consent agreements, each the outcome of negotiations between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel (OEC) and three license holders representing two casinos and a Video Gaming Terminal establishment. The fines levied as a result of these agreements amount to $73,075.

Details of Consent Agreements:

Stadium Casino Westmoreland – Operator of Live! Casino Pittsburgh:

Fined a total of $30,000.
$20,000 fine for allowing individuals on the PGCB’s casino Self-Exclusion List access to the gaming floor on two separate occasions.
$10,000 fine for permitting an individual under 21 years old to enter the gaming floor and engage in slot machine play.
Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores:

Imposed a fine of $25,000.
The fine was for failing to notify the PGCB of changes in ownership structure concerning its five VGT Truck Stop Establishment locations.
Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment – Operator of Parx Casino & Racing:

Fined $18,075.
The fine was the result of a delay in submitting two license renewal applications as required.

Prior Enforcement Actions:

In a similar vein, in September, the PGCB imposed a $45,000 fine on Pilot Travel Centers, a video gaming terminal venue. The penalty was related to instances of underage gambling and the absence of a board-credentialed employee on duty.

The PGCB’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and regulatory compliance of gaming operations in Pennsylvania is evident through these consent agreements. The fines imposed underscore the importance of upholding strict adherence to the state’s gaming regulations. As the gaming industry continues to evolve, the PGCB’s vigilance in enforcing these standards remains unwavering.
