Penn Entertainment has announced a groundbreaking ceremony for its future Hollywood Casino-Joliet, scheduled for tomorrow (December 13). The new land-based casino, replacing the existing riverboat casino, is a significant development for Penn Entertainment. Transition to Land-Based Facility:
The groundbreaking event marks the initiation of the construction phase for the new Hollywood Casino-Joliet. During the approximately 24-month construction period, the existing Hollywood Casino Joliet will continue its normal operations. The $185 million project is part of the RockRun Collection, a new commercial and residential development located near the Interstate 80 and Interstate 55 interchange in Joliet.
Facility Features:
The state-of-the-art venue will boast approximately 850 slot machines, 44 live table games (including a dedicated baccarat room), a retail sportsbook, upscale bars and restaurants, a 10,000-square-foot event center with meeting areas, and around 1,330 parking spaces. The development aims to offer a modern and engaging gaming and entertainment experience in the vibrant Chicagoland market.
Job Creation and Economic Impact:
