2022 Report Highlights:
The IBIA’s annual report for 2022 highlighted its vigilance and efficacy in maintaining sports integrity. The association reported an increase of 14 percent in alerts sent to sports governing bodies, compared to 2021. Notably, the number of alerts in 2022 exceeded the figure reported in 2020. Among the regions, Europe accounted for the highest number of alerts (126 alerts or 50 percent of the total). Asia, Africa, North America, South America, and Australia collectively contributed to the remaining alerts. The alerts spanned across 14 sports and 61 countries. Tennis emerged as a notable area of focus with 102 alerts, a rise from 80 in 2021, while football accounted for 67 alerts (compared to 66 in 2021).
