Additionally, the government called for a crackdown on unlicensed gambling operations, prompting the BCLB to take action.
Enhanced Licensing Requirements:
Interior Secretary Fred Matiang’i’s directives instructed the BCLB to implement stricter licensing criteria for betting operators. These criteria necessitate clearance from multiple government entities, including the Kenya Revenue Authority, Financial Reporting Centre, Inter-Agency Security Team, and the Communications Authority of Kenya.
