The Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) has advanced in the process of choosing a service provider for the Windsor Casino, known as Caesars Windsor. The release of Request for Proposal (RFP) documents marks a significant step in the procurement process aimed at selecting an entity to oversee the daily operations. Earlier in May, OLG initiated the process with a Request for Pre-Qualification (RFPQ).
Ensuring Long-Term Competitiveness
OLG’s objective with the RFP is to identify a highly qualified service provider capable of managing day-to-day operations effectively. This move is not only aimed at securing seamless operations but also at ensuring the long-term competitiveness of the site. By doing so, Caesars Windsor can continue to be a robust contributor to the local community and the broader province of Ontario, generating substantial economic benefits.
Current Operator’s Participation
It is worth noting that the existing operator of the casino has the option to participate in the procurement process. This inclusive approach highlights OLG’s commitment to fairness and competition, allowing the current operator to continue its involvement if it so chooses.
Caesars Windsor’s Pioneering Sportsbook
Earlier this year, Caesars Windsor achieved a noteworthy milestone by becoming home to Ontario’s inaugural full-service sportsbook. This state-of-the-art Caesars Sportsbook, occupying 1,618 square feet, is strategically positioned at the front of the Legends Sports Bar. The sportsbook offers three betting windows and seven betting kiosks, designed to cater to sports enthusiasts. Moreover, the space features an array of 22 large-screen HD LED TVs, providing an immersive and engaging sports betting experience for patrons.
As the procurement process for a new service provider for Caesars Windsor advances, it reaffirms OLG’s commitment to maintaining and enhancing the casino’s role as a prominent economic driver for the Windsor region and beyond.
