Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica, Mississippi, has selected Shane Robertson as its new Director of Gaming and Operations. With nearly 30 years of extensive industry experience, Robertson will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of the resort’s gaming operations, compliance with state gaming regulations, and the management of its casino and resort facilities.
Shane Robertson’s Wealth of Experience:
Shane Robertson brings a rich background in the gaming and hospitality industry, having previously worked at esteemed establishments such as Odawa Casino, Harrah’s Tunica, MotorCity Casino, MGM Grand, Carnival Cruise Lines, Sheraton Casino, and, most recently, Hollywood Casino at Greektown in Detroit, Michigan. His diverse experience spans various facets of the sector and includes contributions to community branding, strategic partnerships, and cross-promotional marketing initiatives.
Dean Rubin, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Gold Strike Casino Resort, expressed the team’s enthusiasm regarding Shane’s appointment. They believe that his industry knowledge, coupled with his strategic leadership and dedication to guest service and team building, will drive the resort to new heights of success.
Change in Ownership:
In February, there was a change in the ownership of Gold Strike Casino Resort. MGM Resorts International completed the sale of the resort’s operations to CNE Gaming Holdings, a subsidiary of Cherokee Nation Businesses. This transition was officially approved by the Mississippi Gaming Commission. Despite the change in ownership, operations at Gold Strike Casino Resort continue seamlessly, with all over 1,100 team members retained. The deal was sealed with a cash payment of $450 million.
With Shane Robertson taking the helm as Director of Gaming and Operations, Gold Strike Casino Resort stands poised for an exciting new phase. Leveraging his extensive experience and skills, the resort aims to elevate its offerings and services to provide an even more exceptional experience for its guests. The change in ownership earlier this year has not disrupted the resort’s operations, and it remains a prominent and vibrant destination on the Mississippi River, with a bright future ahead under Robertson’s leadership.
