Dreamscape Companies is set to revamp the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas with the help of a newly appointed leadership team. The team, with decades of industry experience, will take charge of the redevelopment and operation of this iconic Las Vegas property starting in October. The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino was acquired by Dreamscape Companies from Caesars Entertainment in 2019. Here’s a closer look at the key members of this dynamic team:
Trevor Scherrer – President of Gaming and Entertainment
With over 30 years of experience in the Las Vegas market, Scherrer has held prominent leadership positions in various resorts. He’s previously served as the president and COO of the MGM Grand, president and COO of The Mirage, and senior vice president of New York-New York Hotel and Casino. Most recently, he was involved in the Resorts World Las Vegas opening team, contributing to the development of the innovative $4.3 billion project.
Janice Fitzpatrick – Chief Financial Officer
Fitzpatrick brings more than 40 years of financial expertise in the gaming and hospitality sectors, both nationally and internationally. Her financial leadership has left an indelible mark on resorts, including Station Casinos, MGM Resorts International, and The Venetian Las Vegas.
Tom Evans – Chief Marketing Officer
Having played a pivotal role in opening more than ten hotels and casinos, including renowned establishments like Bellagio and ARIA resorts in Las Vegas, Evans boasts extensive experience. He also led marketing initiatives for CityCenter and served as the chief marketing officer of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas for over six years.
Kevin Sweet – Chief Gaming Officer
Previously the vice president of slot operations and marketing at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Sweet is well-versed in gaming operations and marketing, making him an invaluable asset to the team.
Don Purdue – Vice President of Development and Construction Services
Purdue, with a history of developing master-planned communities and golf courses, has served as the vice president of development since 2017. He has been instrumental in leading the remodel of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Nevada Gaming Revenue in March
On a broader note, Nevada’s gaming industry reported total revenue of $1.31 billion in March, reflecting a slight 3.1% decrease year-on-year. The Las Vegas Strip, a key contributor, generated $724.5 million in revenue, down 2.9% compared to the previous year. This data underscores the evolving dynamics in the region’s gaming market.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board’s report also showed that Clark County, encompassing the Strip and its surrounding areas, generated a total of $1.1 billion in revenue, marking a 2.4% decrease. Washoe County, which includes popular casino destinations like Reno and North Lake Tahoe, reported a 6.1% decrease in revenue compared to the previous year.
