Macau’s Responsible Gaming Promotion 2023 reached its conclusion on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone in the continuous efforts to promote responsible gambling practices. The event, co-organized by the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS), the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ), and the Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming at the University of Macau, aimed to raise awareness and provide education on responsible gaming. With the theme “Seeking Help for Winning the Future,” the initiative spanned over three months.

Achievements and Recognitions:
Awarding Responsible Gambling Model Units:

Thirteen organizations were recognized and awarded the prestigious status of “Responsible Gambling Model Units.” This acknowledgment highlights their commitment to fostering responsible gaming environments.

A total of 146 trainees received certificates for completing courses, including the “Macau Professional Certificate in Gambling Counselling” and the “Certificate in Macau Responsible Gaming Advisor.” Additionally, 34 individuals who successfully passed assessments were awarded the “Macao Professional Certificate in Responsible Gaming Counselling.”

Survey Insights and Increased Awareness:
According to survey data from the IAS, Macau residents’ awareness of responsible gambling has shown significant growth, increasing from 16.2% before 2009 to 64.39% in 2023. This noteworthy achievement underscores the success of the SAR Government’s collaborative efforts in promoting responsible gambling across the industry.

Insights from IAS Representative:
