Colorado’s Sports Betting Landscape:
In February, Colorado witnessed a surge in sports betting activity, with the total handle reaching a commendable $537 million. Despite marking a notable 26% year-on-year increase, there was a marginal 10% decrease compared to the previous month. The bulk of wagers, amounting to $533.5 million, were placed online, while a minority of $3.5 million was wagered through retail sportsbooks.
Financial Performance Metrics:
The Colorado Department of Revenue divulged key financial metrics reflecting the state’s gaming performance. Gross gaming revenue for February totaled $25.8 million, representing a respectable 14% surge from February 2023 figures. However, this figure witnessed a significant 52% downturn from the preceding month, where gross gaming revenue amounted to $53.5 million. Tax revenues collected in February amounted to $1.3 million, signifying a modest 3.57% increase from February 2023.
