Boston Billiard Club & Casino (BBC&C), located in Nashua, New Hampshire, recently unveiled its first 50 Historical Horse Racing (HHR) gaming terminals in partnership with Exacta Systems. Following the acquisition of the charitable casino by Delaware North, the hospitality and entertainment company, BBC&C aims to have more than 300 HHR terminals operational by December. In addition to this exciting development, the state of New Hampshire experienced a remarkable 68.2% increase in sports betting revenue in September, reaching its highest monthly total since January 2022.
Expansion of Historical Horse Racing (HHR) in New Hampshire:
Delaware North’s purchase of BBC&C marked the initiation of an ambitious project to introduce Historical Horse Racing (HHR) gaming terminals to the venue. Teaming up with Exacta Systems, they successfully deployed 50 top-performing games from AGS on the Exacta Connect platform. The implementation process was seamless, and the general manager of BBC&C, Mark Bennett, expressed his satisfaction with the swift deployment and the selection of diverse games from AGS.
The HHR system also expanded its reach to Ocean Gaming Casino in New Hampshire earlier in May. The state witnessed a significant boost in gaming offerings as it introduced more than 1,200 machines in two venues operated by Churchill Downs and a joint venture between Kentucky Downs and Keeneland.
Impressive Surge in New Hampshire Sports Betting Revenue:
New Hampshire experienced a remarkable surge in sports betting revenue in September, as wagers amounted to $78 million, a substantial 14.8% increase from September 2021 and an impressive 80.2% jump from the previous month’s handle of $43.4 million. The majority of wagers, amounting to $58.5 million, were placed online, while the remaining $19.8 million came from bets made at retail sportsbooks.
The surge in wagers translated into impressive gross gaming revenue of $7.4 million, representing a significant 68.2% year-on-year increase and a remarkable 76.2% growth from August 2023’s revenue of $4.2 million. Notably, this was the highest monthly amount recorded since January 2022, signaling a flourishing sports betting market in the state. Of the total revenue, online sports betting contributed $7.7 million, while retail sportsbooks faced a marginal loss of $374,088.
The introduction of Historical Horse Racing (HHR) gaming terminals at Boston Billiard Club & Casino marks a milestone in Delaware North’s vision to enhance gaming experiences. Partnering with Exacta Systems and AGS games ensures a diverse and engaging offering for visitors. Additionally, the thriving sports betting market in New Hampshire indicates a strong appetite for wagering, with remarkable revenue growth and a shift towards online betting. As New Hampshire prepares to launch over 300 HHR terminals by December, the state’s gaming industry is undoubtedly set for continued growth and success.
