The Westerwelle Foundation, established in 2013 by former German Minister of Foreign Affairs Guido Westerwelle and entrepreneur Ralph Dommermuth, is dedicated to advancing youth entrepreneurship in developing countries. With successful delivery of 17 programs to support young entrepreneurs this year, over 60 startups have created approximately 300 new jobs.
In Africa, the Westerwelle Foundation operates two startup centers in Tunis and Kigali. With the inauguration of “Westerwelle Startup Haus Arusha powered by Paul Gauselmann,” the largest facility of its kind in the region is now operational, furthering the foundation’s mission to empower and uplift entrepreneurial spirits in Tanzania.
