FBM Foundation’s “Building a Champion by a Champion” Program: Empowering Filipino Youth Through Education

As 2023 unfolds, the FBM Foundation and its dedicated volunteers embark on a mission filled with hope and purpose. With the launch of the “Bayanihan para sa Kababayan” program, a new initiative emerges to support Filipino youth in achieving academic excellence. The first step was taken in Tanay, Rizal, with more endeavors planned throughout the year.

Education as a Priority:
The “Building a Champion by a Champion” program is the culmination of four months of meticulous planning and dedication. Spread across January, April, August, and November of 2023, it signifies a commitment to uplifting Filipino youth through enhanced educational opportunities.

Recognizing that education is a powerful force for overcoming adversity, FBM Foundation places it at the forefront of their mission. Vítor Francisco, Director of FBM Foundation, emphasizes their unwavering dedication to supporting communities through actions that bring about transformative changes in the academic landscape.

International Day of Education Celebration:
To coincide with the International Day of Education on January 24th, the program’s inaugural event focused on aiding over 600 students whose educational journeys were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The setting was the Camp Mateo Capinpin Elementary School in Tanay, Rizal.

Supporting Students Affected by Setbacks:
The pandemic’s global repercussions were keenly felt in Filipino communities, particularly in the realm of education. Numerous activities were halted or canceled, creating setbacks for students. While face-to-face classes have resumed at Camp Mateo Capinpin Elementary School, the road to recovery remains long.

On January 27th, the program’s second initiative saw 650 young students from kindergarten to grade 6 receive invaluable assistance from 15 FBM Foundation Champions. The support came in the form of school supplies and cleaning materials.

Beyond Teaching Materials:
The donation included notebooks, writing pads, ballpoint pens, pencils, art supplies, and glue. Furthermore, the school facility received essential equipment, including a TV monitor, a printer with scanning and photocopying capabilities, bundles of bond paper, Monoblock chairs, face masks, detergents, disinfectant sprays, insect killers, and alcohol.

This act of generosity transcends mere educational aid; it aims to establish a safe and comfortable environment that inspires and motivates students to excel in their studies.

A Year of Empowerment:
The “Building a Champion by a Champion” program has three more activities scheduled for this year. These initiatives are tailored to benefit the younger generation facing social and economic challenges, with the ultimate goal of nurturing a brighter tomorrow through education.

In a world of uncertainties, FBM Foundation’s commitment to empowering Filipino youth through education shines as a beacon of hope and progress.
