BC.GAME expands in Nigeria as operator pushes further into regulated markets

BC.GAME has launched in Nigeria after securing local approval for sports betting and casino products, extending its push into regulated markets in Africa. The company said the Nigeria launch is aimed at giving local users a platform with sports betting, casino games and payment options built for the market.

The Nigeria move matters because BC.GAME has often been better known for its offshore and crypto-linked profile than for locally regulated expansion. A licensed launch in one of Africa’s largest betting markets gives the group a different kind of foothold and adds to its effort to build a stronger regulated-market story.

Nigeria launch adds a local licence to the group’s expansion plan

The company said it secured a Nigerian sports betting and casino licence for the launch. Its Nigeria-facing pages say the business operates locally through BlockDance Africa Limited and is licensed by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, or NLRC.

That gives the launch more weight than a simple market-facing website. It means BC.GAME is trying to enter Nigeria through a regulated route rather than relying only on cross-border access.

Nigeria is a logical target. It is one of the continent’s biggest betting markets, with a large mobile-first user base and deep interest in sports betting. For an operator trying to grow regulated revenue, it offers both scale and visibility. This last point is an inference based on Nigeria’s importance in African betting and BC.GAME’s stated expansion strategy.

The launch also shows a wider shift in strategy

BC.GAME is still widely linked with offshore licences, including its Anjouan authorisation listed on the group’s compliance page. But its recent market-by-market moves suggest it is also trying to add local approvals where possible.

That matters because regulated market access is becoming harder to ignore. In many jurisdictions, local licences are now the clearest way to build stable operations, payment access and a more defensible position with users and regulators.

Nigeria alone does not answer that bigger question. But it does show where BC.GAME is heading. The company is no longer just presenting itself as a global gambling brand with offshore reach. It is also trying to prove it can win business inside regulated local markets.
