Betsson has agreed to acquire Rhino Entertainment Group’s Canada-licensed B2C business along with technology assets linked to Rhino’s B2B operations, the company said.
Betsson put the total purchase price at €64.5 million and said the transaction is expected to close in the second or third quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. The acquisition gives Betsson a larger base in Canada’s regulated market while adding proprietary technology it says will strengthen its B2B offering.
Betsson is getting an early start in Canada
Betsson said the deal includes Rhino’s B2C operations licensed in Canada and a set of technology assets supporting Rhino’s B2B business. Betsson views the purchase as a way to expand their footprint opportunities across both segments.
The company stated that the purchase price includes an upfront payment at closing and a deferred payment due six months later. In the meantime it will finance the acquisition using existing cash flow and expects completion of the deal after required approvals in Q2 or Q3 2026.
Canada’s regulated iGaming footprint has been evolving quickly, with Ontario setting the pace and other provinces reassessing their frameworks, and Betsson is planning to take advantage of that by buying up market share early.
When will the deal finally close?
The closing time for the aquisition will depend on the initial regulator sign-off and then how quickly Betsson can integrate Rhino’s operating team, licensing footprint, and assets under its umbrella.
