Genting Singapore reported a steep fall in first-quarter profit as higher costs hit Resorts World Sentosa, even as non-gaming revenue improved. Net profit after tax fell 55% year-on-year to S$65.2 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2026. Revenue declined 3% to S$607.6 million, while adjusted EBITDA dropped 24% to S$179.0 million.

Gaming revenue fell, but non-gaming improved

Gaming revenue at Resorts World Sentosa fell 8% to S$403.4 million from S$437.5 million a year earlier. Non-gaming revenue rose 8% to S$204.1 million from S$188.5 million.

The non-gaming increase was supported by more visitors to attractions at Resorts World Sentosa, including Universal Studios Singapore and the Singapore Oceanarium. Gaming revenue improved toward the end of the quarter.

The uneven revenue performance still left the group with lower earnings. Adjusted EBITDA for Resorts World Sentosa fell 25% to S$182.5 million.

Higher costs reduced earnings

Genting Singapore pointed to higher energy, freight and logistics expenses as pressure points across supply chains. It also said elevated airfares were weighing on travel demand and consumer sentiment.

Those costs came as the group continued work on asset upgrades and guest experience improvements. Other expenses were lower year-on-year at S$3.3 million, but the profit decline was still much steeper than the revenue fall.

Singapore casino operators remain under pressure when revenue growth is uneven and operating costs stay high. Resorts World Sentosa remains exposed to travel trends, especially regional visitor demand and air capacity.

Resorts World Sentosa keeps refreshing the property

Genting Singapore continued to add new resort offerings during the quarter. The company delivered seasonal events, promotions and refreshed lifestyle and dining concepts to support visitor activity.

April openings included BODHI Spa at The Laurus, QUAN Hotpot and new tenants such as People People Brewing Co. The launch of attraction season passes also added another product aimed at repeat visitation.

The Laurus, A Luxury Collection Resort at RWS, received the BCA Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy certificate in January. Genting Singapore also plans further investment in hotel improvements, amenities, new concepts and technology applications.
