The digital gaming and interactive division of Novomatic, Greentube, has signed a deal with Czech iGaming operator Kingsbet as it continues its expansion across regulated European markets.
The agreement was signed for an undisclosed amount but remains subject to several conditions, with regulatory approval yet to be confirmed.
Greentube to benefit from local operational knowledge and market expertise
Kingsbet is the online arm of Czech land-based casino operator Kings Entertainment and will support the Greentube’s long-term goals in the country, according to the company.
Greentube chief commercial officer Ronald van den Brink said of the deal: “Entering the Czech market is a natural step in our long-term growth strategy. The Czech Republic stands among the most advanced and well-regulated gaming markets in Europe. By joining forces with Kingsbet, we are gaining a strong local team that will support our expansion.”
David Vaněk, CEO of Kingsbet, added: “We are excited to join the Greentube group. This partnership brings us growth and investment opportunities, and access to advanced technology and globally renowned game studios. It will allow us to deliver an even stronger player experience and continue growing in the Czech Republic.”
The gambling market has been live in CAccording to the Czech Ministry of Finance, the country’s gambling market generated CZK68 billion (about €2.7 billion) in gross gaming revenue in 2025, with online gambling making up 59.2%.
Greentube enters market with illegal gambling challneges
A recent report highlights the scale of illegal gambling in the Czech Republic, underscoring both risks and opportunities attached to the Greentube move to acquire Kingsbet. Data suggests about 400,000 Czech players use unlicensed sites.
Research by the Sociological Institute at the Slovak Academy of Sciences estimates the country loses more than CZK330 million ($15.9 million) in tax revenue each month to illegal operators targeting local players.
The findings indicate Czech consumers lose roughly CZK14.5 billion annually on unlicensed platforms, with billions more in lost tax contributions and public funds, including impacts on municipalities.
The report also found widespread engagement with illegal brands, with hundreds of thousands of users unable to distinguish licensed operators. More than 1,100 illegal sites target Czech players, compared with just 27 licensed operators.
Industry groups are calling for tighter enforcement and regulation, warning that illegal gambling continues to grow online and could undermine licensed operators seeking to expand in the market.

Meanwhile, a subsidiary of Greentube, StarGames, has extended its partnership with Borussia Dortmund until 2029, building on a collaboration that began in 2024.

The operator will also continue presenting “Match Facts” across BVB’s social media platforms, alongside joint promotions, content campaigns and ticket giveaways for fans.
StarGames brand manager László Pados said of the deal: “Not only do StarGames’ colours complement the black and yellow of BVB, but our values, including fair play, fan engagement, and entertainment, are also aligned with theirs.
“We look forward to continuing this successful journey and launching many more exciting projects for the fans together.”
Benedikt Scholz, director of internationalisation & commercial partnerships at Borussia Dortmund, added: “We are delighted to continue our successful partnership with StarGames. This renewal highlights the professionalism and dependability of our collaboration.”
