Danny Tang leads star-studded Triton Montenegro Main Event final table

After Maher Nouira fell in 10th place, the stage was set for the Triton Montenegro Main Event final table, which will go down on Saturday.

Leading the way is Season 3 Ivan Leow Player of the Year, Danny Tang, who holds a slight advantage over Germany’s Leon Sturm and China’s Wang Ye.

The 159-entry field created a $15,900,000 prize pool. The nine players are guaranteed $356,000, though they will all be hoping to get their hands on the trophy, the $3,522,000, and the title of Triton Montenegro Main Event champion.

Triton Montenegro Main Event final table

Unbelievably, the Triton Montenegro Main Event final table won’t feature a single player from the Triton Jeju Main Event final table, which Ben Tollerene won for $3.8 million.

Tollerene was looking to go back-to-back but came just short, finishing in 14th place for $238,000.

Daniel Dvoress, who won a pair of $25,000 EPT High Rollers this year and had eight cashes at Triton Jeju (including a win), finished in 11th place for $302,000.

27 players cashed the Triton Montenegro Main Event, including Michael Soyza (12th, $263,000), 2025 GPI Player of the Year Punnat Punsri (15th, $238,000), Isaac Haxton (16th, $214,000), Daniel Rezaei (18th, $191,000), Mikita Badziakouski (25th, $159,000), and Jesse Lonis (27th, $159,000).

Thomas Boivin was the unfortunate bubble boy, losing a classic flip when his pocket queens couldn’t hold up against Isaac Haxton. Joao Simao, Bernhard Binder, Bryn Kenney, and Fedor Holz all barely missed a valuable cash.

The final nine players will come back tomorrow at 1 pm local time. The blinds will continue at 50,000/125,000 with a 125,000 big blind ante.

Patrik Antonius is looking to make history and become only the second player to ever win both a Triton Poker Invitational and a Triton Poker Main Event after Bryn Kenney.

Danny Tang, who will come in as the chip leader, pulled off a hero call against Leon Sturm on the stone bubble to double up.

Watson at the double

The Triton Montenegro Main Event wasn’t the only event going on. Canadian superstar Mike Watson won his seventh career Triton Poker title after winning his second no-limit hold ’em turbo tournament of the series.

Watson, who just won a $30,000 NLH just four days ago, took down the 32-entry $50,000 NLH Bounty Quattro, winning a total of $621,000, including $240,000 in bounties.

Watson beat Linus Loeliger in heads-up play and had to get through a tough final table that included Alex Foxen, Jason Koon, Jesse Lonis, and Artur Martirosian, amongst others.

Watson is just the second player to ever win seven Triton Poker titles, though he’s still some distance away from Koon’s 12 career titles.

“It’s sick,” Watson said after winning his second title. “Lucky cards, I guess really, at the end of the day. In turbos, there’s going to be some all-ins, if you win the hands, that’s a big part of it.

“I don’t think Jason is going to feel me breathing down his neck or anything, just quite yet. But being second alone is pretty incredible. So I’m really thrilled to have that on my resume right now.

“I’m here to play poker; it’s a work trip. I’m away from my family for a few weeks, so I’m here to play, try to make some money, and try to win some titles if I can. Poker remains the primary focus. But you know it’s a long trip sometimes.”
