Betano has partnered with Fundación Empate to support adapted football for athletes with Down syndrome in Argentina. The project includes weekly training for 192 players and preparation for the FUT21 National Tournament in October.
The initiative forms part of Betano’s Challenge Your Limits program. It is designed to support players, coaches and sports organisations involved in inclusive football.
Training support for 192 athletes
Betano will fund weekly training sessions for 192 athletes with Down syndrome. The company will also provide resources to help teams prepare for the FUT21 National Tournament.
FUT21 is one of Argentina’s main futsal competitions for athletes with Down syndrome. The tournament brings together teams from different parts of the country and is scheduled to take place in October.
The partnership begins with an adapted football tournament linked to Fundación Empate’s annual competition program. Betano will support the work leading up to the national event.
Workshops for sports professionals
The project also includes training workshops for coaches, physical education teachers and physiotherapists. Betano plans to reach more than 800 sports professionals through the sessions.
The workshops will focus on inclusive sports methods and support for athletes with Down syndrome. Teams and staff involved in adapted football will also be included in the program.
Fundación Empate works with young people with Down syndrome through sports, education and employment programs. Its football activities give players a place to train, compete and take part in team sports.
Betano supports adapted sports
Betano has used its Challenge Your Limits program to support adapted sports projects in Argentina. The company has also supported Los Murciélagos, Argentina’s national blind football team.
The Fundación Empate partnership expands that work into football for athletes with Down syndrome. It gives the organisation funding for training, competition preparation and coach education.
Betano operates in Argentina through Kaizen Gaming. The company has also increased its football presence in the country through sponsorship activity linked to the Argentina national team.
Empate Córdoba has recent tournament success
Fundación Empate’s Empate Córdoba team finished third in the championship division at the 2025 National Futsal Tournament in San Luis. The team won the Argentine Futsal Tournament for people with Down syndrome in Mendoza in 2024.
The foundation also runs free football, tennis, music, art and job training activities. Its programs operate in Córdoba and San Francisco in Argentina, with a social franchise in Lima, Peru.
