SBC Events has signed a three-year agreement with the International Association of Gaming Regulators and the International Masters of Gaming Law. The project will expand regulatory education across the gambling industry.

The partnership will use SBC’s events and media platforms. It will bring regulators, gaming lawyers and industry executives into more regular discussion on gambling rules, compliance and market changes.

Partnership links regulators, lawyers and industry

The agreement brings together three groups with different roles in gambling regulation. SBC runs global gambling events and media products, IAGR represents gaming regulators, and IMGL is a network of gaming lawyers, regulators and other professional advisers.

The three groups will work on conferences, event sessions and content focused on regulatory issues. Planned formats include interviews, commentary, podcasts and publications.

The project is expected to run across SBC’s events and media properties for the next three years. It gives the partners a shared platform for explaining rule changes and comparing regulatory approaches across jurisdictions.

First events planned for Lisbon

One of the first projects will be a programme of Regulatory Gaming Meetups and dedicated conference tracks at SBC Summit in Lisbon. The event is scheduled for September 29 to October 1, 2026.

Those sessions are expected to focus on current regulatory issues in major gambling markets. The format gives regulators, legal advisers and industry teams a place to discuss compliance issues during a large commercial industry event. The Lisbon programme also gives IAGR and IMGL wider access to operators, suppliers, affiliates and technology companies that already attend SBC events.

Collaboration comes amid tighter gambling rules

The agreement comes as gambling rules are changing quickly across sports betting, iGaming, payments, advertising and player protection. Operators are also facing more cross-border compliance issues as markets open, tighten or review existing laws.

For regulators, the project creates another channel for explaining policy changes directly to industry stakeholders. For operators and suppliers, it offers more access to regulatory and legal discussion before rules become enforcement problems.

IAGR’s 2026 annual conference is scheduled for October 19 to 22 in Lima, Peru. The event is aimed at gambling regulators, government officials, compliance leaders and advisers, with sessions expected to cover regulatory cooperation, technology and market supervision.
