The Argentine Football Association has named Kalshi as an official sponsor for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, adding a prediction market brand to Argentina’s commercial programme. The agreement covers the tournament period and gives Kalshi access to AFA branding.

The partnership includes co-branded activations, social media campaigns and use of Argentina’s national team marks in Kalshi marketing. It links the prediction market operator with one of football’s most followed teams during the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Kalshi gets Argentina team rights

Kalshi will be able to use AFA intellectual property, including Argentina’s sky-blue and white crest, in approved marketing. That gives the company a direct connection to the defending World Cup champions.

For Kalshi, the deal comes as football becomes a larger part of its event contract offering. The company has promoted World Cup markets that allow users to trade on team outcomes, tournament performance and related football results.

The sponsorship also gives Kalshi visibility during a tournament expected to drive heavy fan interest. Argentina’s global following makes the AFA agreement one of Kalshi’s most visible sports partnerships.

AFA expands sponsor list

The AFA has continued to build commercial partnerships around the national team since Argentina’s 2022 World Cup win. The federation has added sponsors across regions and product categories as demand for Argentina-linked branding has increased.

The Kalshi agreement fits that global approach. It gives AFA another partner in the region hosting the 2026 World Cup. Argentina is one of the tournament’s main teams because it is the defending champion. The team’s commercial value remains high as Lionel Messi and the national squad continue to attract global attention.

Prediction markets face legal pressure

The deal comes while prediction markets remain under legal and regulatory scrutiny in the United States. Kalshi is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, but several states have challenged sports-linked event contracts.

State gambling regulators argue that sports outcome contracts can look similar to betting. Prediction market operators treat the contracts as federally regulated event trading products rather than sportsbook wagers.

That split has led to legal fights in states including Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio and Kentucky. The AFA sponsorship gives Kalshi another sports-facing marketing platform while those disputes continue.

Argentina starts in Group J

Argentina has been drawn in Group J for the 2026 World Cup. The group includes Algeria, Austria and Jordan, giving the defending champion a varied opening schedule. Argentina’s group-stage matches will give national team sponsors more visibility. AFA partners can use Argentina’s matches, fan events and digital campaigns to reach supporters across North America and global football markets.
