Pragmatic Play adds Korean twist to live baccarat

Pragmatic Play has launched Seotda Baccarat, a new live casino title that combines baccarat-style wagering with mechanics from the Korean card game Seotda. The game uses a 20-card Hwatu deck instead of a standard baccarat shoe. Each card represents a month from January to October and carries a points value, giving the title a different scoring system while keeping the basic player-versus-banker betting format.

Seotda mechanics replace the third-card draw

Seotda Baccarat keeps the core baccarat decision simple. Players bet on whether the player or banker hand will score higher. Each side receives two cards, and the standard baccarat third-card draw is removed. That makes the round structure faster and gives the game a cleaner format for live casino play.

The scoring is based on a custom Seotda ranking system rather than classic baccarat totals. That is the main difference from traditional baccarat, while the bet type remains familiar to casino players.

Bright cards add side bets

The game includes three special Bright cards, marked with the East Asian symbol “光”. These cards carry the highest value in the deck and are used for dedicated side bets.

Pragmatic Play’s game page lists side bets such as Player Bright and Banker Bright, with payouts of up to 80:1. The supplier is positioning those side bets as the higher-volatility part of the game.

The live studio also uses Korean-inspired design across the table, uniforms and Hwatu cards. That gives Seotda Baccarat a stronger visual identity than a standard baccarat variant.

Launch builds on live casino releases

Seotda Baccarat joins Pragmatic Play’s live casino portfolio after the April launch of Gates of Olympus Roulette. The supplier has continued to use themed table games and hybrid formats to give operators more variety in live casino lobbies.

The new title also follows Pragmatic Play’s push to add products that mix familiar casino rules with regional or culturally specific mechanics. For operators, the game offers a baccarat variant with a different deck, faster hand flow and side-bet options that can sit alongside standard live baccarat tables.
